КОШКА И Я.
В моей жизни кошек не было.
Нет, они, конечно, были. Но в стороне. Как собаки, как попугайчики, как хомячки. Где-то были. Они – сами по себе, я – сама по себе. К тому же папа был военный, сплошные переезды. А возить животных через границу… сами понимаете. А у мамы аллергия. Так что она живых существ в доме предпочитала не заводить. Ей вполне хватало меня. И за кошку, и за собаку, и за хомячка.
А мне… Одна дочка, эгоистка. К тому же с актерскими способностями. Каждый день разная. Мне нравилось. У мамы у самой был капризный характер. Нам было… ну, о-о-очень интересно. Я даже радовалась, что у меня нет братьев-сестер. Никто не мешает. А уж о животных вообще речь не шла. Так сложилось.
Так было всю жизнь. Я даже в школе не любила естественные науки, науки о живом. Меня привлекала архитектура. Так сказать, наука о красоте и комфорте. А живое… “Ну вот, люди есть, и хватит.” И чего можно ждать при таком мировоззрении? Да и кошки, которых я видела у бабушки в деревне, где бывала летом, меня не впечатляли: коренастые, мордатые, дворовые в общем. Уж точно не на мой изысканный вкус.
Так было очень долго. Пока…
Дело было зимой. Мы вечером возвращались домой. А по снегу бегал котенок. Кошечка-подросток. Откуда только взялась? Муж пожалел: “Потерялась. Возьмем до утра. Напишем объявление. А то ведь замерзнет.” И мы взяли. Утром муж ушел на работу, а я должна была писать объявления. И только теперь я ее рассмотрела. Увидела вблизи, посмотрела в глаза. И что-то со мной случилось. Я увидела Кошку. Кошек. “Красота, грация и другой разум.” Я утонула в этих глазах. Влюбилась навсегда.
Естественно, я не стала писать объявления. Я побежала за кошачьими принадлежностями. Что бы ей было удобно. Чтобы ей было хорошо. Потому что она… Да разве можно с ней расстаться? Это она меня осчастливила, а вовсе не я ее. Это она полностью соответствовала моему представлению о красоте и грации. Это у нее были бездонные глаза. Боже, за что мне такой подарок? Я ведь не заслужила. А мне дали. Авансом. Может быть, проклюнусь. И я проклюнулась.
Жизнь поменялась с тех пор, как это счастье поселилось в доме.
Мир расширил горизонты. Вместил ее мир. Кошачий. Чудесный.
И как я раньше без этого обходилась?
А, интересно, без чего еще я обхожусь? И сама не знаю.
