Есть у меня кошка. Красавица из красавиц. Лучшая на свете.
Впрочем, так думает каждая, но… На вкус и цвет, как говорится, товарища нет. Но…
У Вашей кошки были котята? И как? На кого были похожи? Бывает же у людей: дочка – точная копия мамы. А у кошек? Я думала, должно быть. И все ждала. И ждала, и ждала. Котята были разные, довольно хорошенькие. Но ни разу, ни одного разу, не было котенка, похожего на нее. А она у меня…
Я даже котом оставила ее котенка. Красивого. И все ждала. Ан, нет! На кого угодно похожи, а не на нее. А она…
Были у фараонов кошки. Священные. Совершенные. Таких теперь и нет. Я думала, что нет. А она…
Я с первого взгляда влюбилась. Вот, бывают красавицы. Среди людей тоже. Когда душа замирает от такого совершенства. И хочется смотреть и смотреть. Начинаешь понимать, что значит “Красота спасет мир”. Такая красота и правда спасает. В ней есть нечто высшее. Душа тянется к совершенству. Возвышается. Среди людей такие редкость. А уж среди кошек…
И вдруг – она. Маленькая. Младшая в помете. Из подворотни. Такая… Откуда только взялась?
Я до трех месяцев ходила ее кормить. (Ну, и маму с сестричками тоже.) А потом забрала. (Сестричек тоже куда-то пристроила.) Принесла ее домой.
Она тяжело отвыкала от жизни на воздухе. Свободолюбие у нее в крови. Потом освоилась. Но, по прежнему, балкон – ее любимое место. А еще – у меня на груди. Я просто млею. Посмотрит на меня своими мудрыми глазами, и я таю, просто таю. И благодарю судьбу за такой подарок.
А однажды в магазине я увидела статуэтку. Большую, с метр не меньше. Прямо статуя. Называлась “Кошка фараона”. Я аж застыла. На меня смотрела она. Как живая. Что за мастер делал? — Я купила, принесла, поставила. И меня кольнуло нехорошее предчувствие: “А что, если эта неживая вытеснит мою живую?” И я совершила ритуал: вынесла статуэтку из дому. Поставила на улице. “Пусть заберет тот, кому не досталась живая.”
А мне, моя живая, принесет котенка. Может быть.
